Dry Cleaning
Dry Cleaning is all about professional care. Most manufacturers provide a label with instructions and recommendations on how to care for your item at home. We adhere to these recommendations and take it a step further. We properly identify the garment and utilize our experience and proper equipment to return your garment in its best possible condition. These pieces require the highest quality, most gentle solutions, and professional cleaning techniques.
Wet Cleaning
Professional wet cleaning is an eco-friendly, water-based alternative to traditional chemical dry cleaning. It uses specialized, highly programmable machines, precise water temperature controls, and biodegradable detergents to safely clean delicate "dry clean only" garments (like wool, silk, and cashmere) without shrinking or fading them
How the Process Works
Pre-treatment: Experts carefully inspect garments and pre-treat individual stains using mild, targeted cleaning agents.
Specialized Washing: Clothes are placed into advanced machines that restrict mechanical agitation to mimic a gentle hand-wash, ensuring fibers aren't stretched or damaged.
Controlled Drying: Items are dried in humidity-monitored commercial dryers to prevent shrinkage and retain their exact shape.
Finishing: Garments are carefully hand-pressed and steamed to restore their original form and texture.
Wet Cleaning vs. Traditional Dry Cleaning
The Solvents: Dry cleaning relies on chemical solvents—historically perchloroethylene ("perc")—to dissolve grease and oils. Wet cleaning relies purely on water and gentle detergents.
Stains and Odors: Water-based wet cleaning is vastly superior for removing bodily fluids, sweat, and food stains.
Safety: Wet cleaning eliminates workplace exposure to toxic chemicals, produces no hazardous air pollutants, and doesn't leave lingering chemical odors on clothing.
